Designing the Future of New Orleans

Deadline: March 1,2006

Architectural Record in collaboration with McGraw-Hill Construction and Tulane University School of Architecture has begun a dual international design competition for the rebuilding of New Orleans. The dual competition, New Orleans Housing Prototype and High Density on High Ground, includes a student competition for the design of an affordable single-family housing prototype, and the second competition for everyone is the design of a mixed-use multi-family housing complex. Winning entries will be published in Architectural Record and displayed at the 2006 AIA Convention.

Jury: High Density on High Ground; Charles Correa, David Adjaye, Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, Monica Ponce de Leon, Natalie De Vries, Robert Ivy and Sean Cummings. New Orleans Housing Prototype; Brian MacKay Lyons, Deborah Berke, Mabel Wilson, Mario Gooden, Merril Elam, Patty Gay and Robert Ivy.
