In the present era sound pollution is the biggest problem for all of us, what do you feel about soundproof  buildings and apartment architectures. Do you feel there is a need to do so or you feel it as an unnecessary cost. What are your opinions about the topic, post it here

Sound becomes a pollutant only after it reaches a certain decible level  / is irritating etc.

Also environmental factors play a big role in what an end user considers sound as a pollutant. Some one who has been living next to a railway line for years finds difficult to sleep if there is no noise of the passing train.

Unless you are in a highly "sound polluted" environment - its nice to have some amount of noise around you - keeps you connected with your environs.

While it is the best to controll sound levels in and around a building, i think it is a subjective to the type and location of a building.. for a healthcare project spending a bit of extra cost to make the building offset external sounds is money wells spent. This may not be the same when one applies this logic to industrial buildings.
